History of FRBC
In 1948, a lumber company was opened on East Main Street in Flat River, the Lead Capital of the World. Unfortunately, within ten years only low grade lead remained, market value had dropped, few miners remained, and Flat River was designated as a depressed area. But the townspeople refused to give up on Flat River, and by 1966 the town had made a dramatic comeback. Flat River was designated an All American City.

This was a turning point for the ailing business, and much like the town, the start of its comeback.

In 1980, the old building was torn down and a new, much larger building center was built in its place, The Flat River Building Center.

Today, the old town of Flat River is part of a larger community called Park Hills, but the Flat River Building Center name remains. Both are enjoying exceptional growth and promise of a very bright future!
